Artistry, Photography, and Poetry – A Black American by Smokey Robinson

Smokey Robinson

I’ve been meaning to post this poem for a while, but it just came to me while thinking of the next black history month post for the blog. Now this poem isn’t for everyone, but some can easily see why it got a standing ovation at the end. Delivered by one of the all time legends of music (Smokey Robinson), the poem speaks to why being BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL and being an American is something to be proud of more than some seem to understand. I saw it when it first aired over 5 years ago, and still I think it’s a very good poem even today. Enjoy…

Excellent poem! He hit on a lot of aspects of our culture and history and I fully agree with him. We have got to be proud of who we are and where we came from. Great find sir!
