In My Time Machine: John Coltrane – Sweet Sapphire Blues

Since I am on the night shift for 4 weeks (1 week down, 3 to go, yes!) I tend to listen to my John Coltrane radio station on Pandora. While studying, this gem played on the station. I, as a big Coltrane fan, have never heard of this record but instantly loved it. So I thought what better way to share it than with our readers here at Theintellution. This is from his album Black Pearls and was recorded on May 23, 1958 in Hackensack, NJ. Mind you this is nearly 20 minutes of classic jazzy goodness, so if you have the time give it a listen and tell us what you think. Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter @theintellution as we tweet to the masses. I am currently tweeting daily quotes that’ll make you think among other random things that go on in the minds of us here at The Intellectual Revolution. Intellectual discretion is advised.
