Here’s an unfinished version of Lupe’s new song American Terrorist Part 2 (Superheroes). This song touches on a theme portrayed in many comic book stories (most recently, The Dark Knight Trilogy) of the superhero losing his hope in humanity. It can also have meaning beyond that with Lupe’s announcement of his possible (premature) retirement from hip-hop after the release of his next album. This coming from his feeling that his message is lost on the youth in his hometown of Chicago. Only time will tell if that holds true or not (hopefully not), but in the meantime enjoy the great storytelling of the song.
